Voice Cards

The Asterisk is a free software PABX project for the operational system Linux 

The Channel Driver for Asterisk (tm) allows the use of the cards FXO VB0408PCI, E1 VB6060PCI and VB3030PCI with the Asterisk in Linux environment with the kernel 2.4 and 2.6 versions.

One of the great problems faced by the Brazilian integrators trying to use  Asterisk is that Asterisk has no support to the R2D/MFC signaling. Facing this problem, Digivoice developed VoiceLib with all R2D/MFC signaling, making the set Asterisk + VB6060PCI or VB3030PCI ideal for installations in links E1 with R2/MFC.

Moreover, all processing of codec GSM and Echo Canceling is made directly by the card’s DSP, downsizing the Asterisk requirements of the hardware for applications that make intensive use of these technologies.

Operation way

After compiling and installing the channel driver, the Asterisk will recognize the DigiVoice cards as Dgv/XX where XX it is the channel number. Using standard integration with Asterisk, any developer/integrator can configure through the options of the file digivoice.conf that is installed in the directory of configuration files in Asterisk (generally /etc/asterisk).

The VoicerLib has been tested on the following distributions:

• Suse 9.0 (kernel 2.4.21 >)
• Suse 10.0 e 10.1 (kernel 2.6.12+)
• Debian Sarge (kernel 2.4 e 2.6.8)
• Ubuntu 5.10 e 6.06 (kernel 2.12 e 2.15)
• Mandriva
• Fedora Core 5 (kernel 2.6.15)
• CentOS 4.3 (Kernel 2.6.9-34 used on Asterisk@Home 2.8) (RedHat 4 Enterprise)
• CentOS 3 (RedHat 3 AS)

This list will be upgraded as new tests are made.

How to get it

Digivoice Channel Driver is freely available in the support area of the web site, where it is possible to download the tar.gz package. The Channel Driver as well the VoicerLib is under Digivoice Public License, that it is a variation of BSD license.

The Digivoice Channel Driver needs the last Linux  version of the VoicerLib4, therefore it is important to register in the support area of Digivoice WEB site to always receive the notifications of new releases and version updates.
